Carbon fiber-reinforced carbon
In principle, carbon fibers can be processed into fabrics in the same way as textile fibers. The plain and twill weave is used in industrial applications. Lamination techniques using phenolic resin or pitch binders are used in the manufacture of plates, cylinders, profiles and 3-dimensional components, which attain their final properties after heat treatment at temperatures of up to 2000°C. Recent material developments increasingly use uni-axially processed fibers to improve material properties. We process all common industrial formats for plates. The common L and U profiles are also available in longer lengths from stock. Detailed datasheets provide information about the material properties and are available on request.
