Environmental protection is a top priority for us. We have integrated another strategy into our intelligent environmental management: we use gas from infra Fürth to heat our production. Infra Fürth supplies its household and commercial customers exclusively with 100 percent TÜV NORD-certified eco-gas.
Climate protection is an issue that concerns us all. With its eco-gas strategy, infra is constantly investing in renewable energies. Natural gas produces the lowest CO₂ emissions of all fossil fuels. We are happy to support this commitment of infra.
But how exactly does this “eco-gas” work? Infras eco-gas is climate-neutral. The combustion of fossil fuels produces environmental harmful CO₂. But by buying infras eco-gas, we also support climate protection projects in emerging countries that offset the CO₂ emissions.
These projects include a reforestation programme in Costa Rica and the provision of solar and wind power in India. In Costa Rica, for example, various, predominantly indigenous tree species were reforested on an area of 824 hectars, which remove CO₂ from the atmosphere every day and also bind it in the long term. In India, these partner projects are creating wind energy and photovoltaik systems that feed renewable energies into the Indian power grid.
All these projects not only have a positive impact on the environment, but also important social components: Jobs are created, sustainable development is promoted and, in parallel, more hygienic and ecological conditions are ensured.
By purchasing green gas from infra Fürth, around 30 tonnes of our CO₂ emissions are offset. We consider climate-neutral eco-gas to be a good and important strategy against climate change and we are pleased that we can once again make a small contribution to environmental protection.
