With regional roots:
Our commitment to the local community
Graphite Materials is deeply rooted in the Nuremberg metropolitan region. In addition to our passion for carbon, we believe it is very important to make a positive
contribution to our region. This includes social commitment and supporting regional associations.
Strong together for sport
Team spirit and ambition can hardly be better realised than in a club:
This is the reason why Graphite Materials supports numerous teams and sports clubs in the region.
We are convinced that sport brings people together, creates passion and promotes team spirit.
We support the following clubs:
Social commitment: Working together for a better future
Fundraising campaign for the “Wünschewagen”
A projekt by the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund
How collecting deposits turned into something great:
Over the past few weeks, our employees from production have collected a lot of money from deposit proceeds for a good cause:
The “Wünschewagen” (Wish Wagon) 🚐✨
The Wünschewagen is organised by ASB, short for Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund, and enables people to have one last wish fulfilled at the end of their lives.
To travel to their favourite place one last time or to attend their grandchildren’s wedding: The Wünschewagen makes such last wishes come true.
The Wünschewagen is financed exclusively by donations. And so that we can support even more Wünschewagen journeys, Graphite Materials has rounded up the amount already collected to a whole €3,000.
We would like to thank ASB for their great work and unwavering commitment. A really great campaign with a lot of heart ♥️
They fight for others:
More than 700 runners at Zirndorfer charity run
Parent’s initiative for children with cancer Nuremberg
Over 700 runners took part in the 1st Zirndorf donation run for children with cancer on Saturday. Including runners from Graphite Materials GmbH. The external conditions were almost perfect – all runners were motivated and persistent.
The donation run was organized by the fireman Stefan Janker from Zirndorf. It has been running in full gear since the beginning of 2019 and includes a 20 kg compressed air bottle on its back for a good cause. His goal is to get the youngsters excited about volunteering and at the same time to support children with cancer.
The proceeds raised, which are in the five-digit range in Zirndorf, should go to the parents’ initiative of children with cancer in Nuremberg.
We would like to thank Stefan Janker for his tireless efforts, it was a great
experience and without exception all participants are looking forward to the next year!

Donation campaign 2019: take responsibility and open up prospects
Support for selected projects in the region

Under the motto “Taking responsibility and opening up perspectives”, we will again support people, associations, social organizations and meaningful projects in the Nuremberg-Fürth area this year. With plastiv lids against polio
Deckel drauf e.V.
Although it can not be proven statistically, the suspicion is obvious: At Graphite Materials, employees are currently using the water bottle more often than usual. For a good reason: In the company, the lid-collecting fever broke out! To dozens land the small plastic closures of empty bottles in large collection bags and wait for their pickup by the Nuremberg club “Deckel drauf”. He has done nothing less than the worldwide eradication of polio, also known as polio. Logically, that Graphite Materials gladly supports and eagerly collects.
The idea behind “Deckel drauf” is as ingenious as it is simple: The lids of beverage bottles are usually made of the HDPE and PP plastics, which are particularly easy to recycle. The prices paid by waste management for these materials are correspondingly high. Graphite Materials therefore collects the plastic closures and lets them pick them up from “lids on top”. Then they are stored and sold to recyclers. The proceeds donated the association to the initiative “End Polio Now”, which thus funds vaccinations against the insidious infectious disease. In fact, 500 covers are enough to enable a person to live without polio. A great incentive to refresh yourself regularly with a glass of water!
Double donation: Graphite Materials Live in the StarFM Studio
Lacrima und Fürther KJHZ
Customers all over the world, roots in the region: Also this year Graphite Materials is committed to associations and social institutions in the Nuremberg-Fürth area. Shortly before Christmas our CEO Dr.-Ing. Rolf Terjung therefore in the Nuremberg studio of the rock radio station “StarFM” a check in the amount of 3000 euros to the association “Lacrima – Center for grieving children and adolescents”. In addition, as in 2018, Graphite Materials will continue to support the Fürth Children and Youth Relief Center (KJHZ) with monthly donations in 2019. Rolf Terjung emphasized the importance of taking responsibility in the social sphere and thanked the representatives of “Lacrima” and the KJHZ for their tireless efforts.
Since 2001, the KJHZ in Fürth has been looking after disadvantaged children, adolescents and young adults who are struggling with different problems. At the same time, the employees of the Fürth facility are committed and enthusiastic. Be it in the framework of social-educational family help, through educational assistance, the vocational integration preparation of young people or a day nursery.
Since 2002, “Lacrima” in Mittelfranken has set itself the task of accompanying grieving children and adolescents on their difficult path. When a close person dies, the previously familiar world often gets out of hand. The Association of Johanniter Unfallhilfe supports young people involved in dealing actively with their grief in groups and thus processing the experience. The offer of “Lacrima” is free and financed solely by donations.
Taking responsibility and opening perspectives
Fürther Kinder- und Jugendhilfezentrum (KJHZ)
“Taking responsibility and opening perspectives” – under this motto Graphite Materials is committed to associations and social organizations in the region. A good week before Christmas we welcomed Mrs. Heidi Pedain and Mrs. Judith Röhrs from the Fürth Children and Youth Relief Center (KJHZ) in our production. There our CEO Dr.-Ing. Rolf Terjung in front of the assembled workforce a check for 2,000 euros to the representatives of the non-profit organization. In addition, Graphite Materials supported the KJHZ in the year 2017 with 500 euros per month, for a total of another 6,000 euros. Rolf Terjung emphasized how valuable the work of the KJHZ was. Especially in times of entrepreneurial success, it is also important not to forget those who are less fortunate and in need.
Since 2001, the KJHZ in Fürth has been looking after disadvantaged children, adolescents and young adults who are struggling with different problems. The individual fates that hide behind the people, sad and thoughtful. Without the child and youth welfare center, many of the children left home without breakfast, did not receive a hot meal a day, and did not have their own desk to do their homework. Their parents, who are in financial difficulties, often lack the same things as a washing machine. The staff of the Fürth facility are dedicated and committed to helping. Be it in the framework of social-educational family help, through educational assistance, the vocational integration preparation of young people or a day nursery.
